What on Earth . . .

Wordsworth it is not, but when I think about the intricate simplicity of our relationship with this here flying sphere, I find that it works quite well.

Earth Day

I am the Earth
And the Earth is me.
Each blade of grass,
Each honey tree,
Each bit of mud,
And stick and stone
Is blood and muscle,
Skin and bone.

And just as I
Need every bit
Of me to make
My body fit,
So Earth needs
Grass and stone and tree
And things that grow here
Naturally.

That’s why we
Celebrate this day.
That’s why across
The world we say:
As long as life,
As dear, as free,
I am the Earth
And the Earth is me.
-Jane Yolen

Seems no matter where we go
we find ways to engage
with the playground
that nature made.

Satin and Nylon accessories welcome.

Meanwhile in Colorado, despite crushing moisture-heavy snow, life persists.

While the tulips entertain with audacious color,

the stalwart daffodils (led by our Earth Angel Thailer) herald the quickening of the orchard.

Lettuce and rhubarb charge forward

And the peach blossoms hold on for a wild ride.

Thank you Earth, you most literally rock.
